Modelling railway ballasted track settlement in vehicle-track interaction analysis

چکیده

The geometry of a ballasted railway gradually deteriorates with trafficking, mainly as result the plastic settlement track-bed (ballast and sub-base). rate amount depend on number factors, for various reasons are difficult to predict or estimate analytically. As result, empirical equations estimating development track train passage have been proposed. A review these shows that they (i) do not reproduce form vs load cycles relationships usually seen in field; (ii) reflect current knowledge behaviour soil subgrades cyclic loading; (iii) often critically dependent curve fitting parameters used, which turn circumstances calibration data were obtained. To address shortcomings, this paper develops semi-analytical approach, based known granular materials under loading, calculation settlements trackbed passage. model is then combined suitable vehicle-track interaction analysis calculate rates permanent different initial stiffnesses, vehicle types speeds. shown be able recursive effects, deterioration causes an increased variation dynamic load, feeds back into further geometry. new represents significant improvement equations, it observed aspects basis soils ballast loading.

Investigation of the Influences of Track Superstructure Parameters on Ballasted Railway Track Design

The main design criteria of ballasted railway tracks include rail deflections, rail bending stresses, rail wheel contact stresses, sleeper bending moments and ballast sleeper contact pressures. Numerous criteria have been defined for the design of ballasted railway tracks owing to the various mechanical properties of track components and their complex interaction. Therefore, railway track desig...

Modelling Scheme for Railway Vehicle/track/ground Dynamic Interaction in the Time Domain

Modelling of vehicle/track/ground dynamic interaction is an important issue for railway design. Better understanding of how the moving dynamic loads are distributed through the track components to the ground can be derived from these numerical results to improve the stability of the moving train and decrease the cost of the maintenance. Nonlinear models of the ground may be required due to the ...

Square Joints in Railway Track Waves

When rails are laid in a railway track, small gaps are left between the ends of adjoining rails to allow for the expansion of the rails when the temperature rises. Rail joints are provided to form a continuous rail path which are normally laid in standard lengths bolted together by fishplates. When two rail joints are exactly opposing each other, they are called square (side by side) joints...
